Tackling the Gender Pay Gap in Law with Dawn Butler MP

This event is co-hosted by the City Lawyers Group and Young Labour Lawyers.

For lawyers the average pay gap: 20.7%; 28.9% median pay gap; average bonus gap: 38.1%.

With the gender pay gap recently in the media as law firms publish poor gender gap statistics we will be discussing with Dawn Butler MP, Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities the Labour Party’s pledge to require all large private and public companies, with over 250 employees, to prove their gender equality practices or face further auditing and fines.

We will be discussing how statistics can be gathered accurately for law firms and how Labour can conduct an effective consultation on the issue, as well as what sanctions would be for law firms and employer who continue to fail to close the gap.

We look forwarding to welcoming you then.
