Labour City Lawyers

The City Group are convened by Omar Salem. They hold regular events on topics particularly of interest to Commercial and Company Lawyers, with focus on financial regulation and international business.

Employment & Personal Injury

The Group meets shadow ministers on relevant issues in employment and PI law and responds to requests for assistance. The Group works on responses to government consultations where appropriate and helpful to the Party. Anyone with practical experience in employment or personal injury law is encouraged to express an interest in becoming involved.

The family group is jointly chaired by Naomi Angell and Hannah Gomersall. They meet regularly in London to discuss family law policy with a view to suggesting areas for reform.

The Housing Law Sub-Group is convened by Liz Davies (contact firstname.lastname@example.org). We meet approximately four times a year. Prior to the general election we were working on a submission on housing policy for Labour’s National Policy Forum. We are currently working on an appraisal of Labour’s Housing Mini-Manifesto (see http://press.labour.org.uk/post/161464413219/labour-launches-new-deal-to-fix-the-housing-crisis).

The Immigration Group is chaired by Adrian Berry (firstname.lastname@example.org). It works on all aspects of immigration, asylum and nationality law and practice.
At present the Group is working on Brexit migration issues in particular.
The Group aims to support the Party at all levels, by assisting with technical information, policy proposals, and then development of principles of a fair and just migration policy.
